Terms of Service
Last updated September 4, 2026
These terms cover the Planning.Church website and iOS app and Backstage by Planning.Church. Keep your account secure, respect other people's material, and use the service responsibly.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating a Planning.Church account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you are setting up an account for a church, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms on that church's behalf.
Public access and pricing
Planning.Church and Backstage are offered to the public, including independent churches, ministries and musicians. Any church can create its own workspace without an invitation or approval from Planning.Church. Access to an existing church's private records is controlled by that church.
Account creation and the current app features are free. Neither app sells digital content, subscriptions or in-app purchases. Backstage's ambient pads can be used without an account. If paid services are introduced, their price and terms will be disclosed before you choose to purchase them.
Accounts
You must be at least 13 to create your own account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.
Church administrators decide who may join their church on the platform and what each role can see and do. Administrators are responsible for configuring those permissions appropriately for the information they hold.
Your church's content
The people records, schedules, giving records, songs, audio, messages, and other material your church puts into Planning.Church remain your church's. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the permission we need to host, process, back up, and display that content in order to run the service for you.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload — including worship audio, tracks, and stems, which are frequently licensed material. Planning.Church stores what you give it; it does not grant you any license to music or other third-party work.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform to break the law or to harm, harass, or endanger anyone.
- Upload material you do not have the right to upload, or malicious software.
- Attempt to access another church's records, probe or bypass the platform's security, or interfere with its operation.
- Resell or redistribute the service without our written agreement.
Connected storage accounts
You may connect a Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Dropbox account so that your worship audio is stored in your church's own account rather than ours. When you do, that provider's own terms govern the storage itself, and their availability, quotas, and pricing are outside our control. Our storage features use the Planning.Church folder to store and retrieve your files. Disconnecting the account stops our access immediately; it does not delete files already in your provider account.
Giving
Planning.Church records giving and links to your church's chosen payment provider. We do not process payments and never handle card or bank details. Your relationship over payments, fees, refunds, and payouts is with that provider. Nothing in the platform is financial, tax, or legal advice — including any giving statement it produces, which your church is responsible for verifying.
Availability
We work to keep the platform running and to protect your data, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change, add, or remove features over time. If we plan to remove something churches depend on, we will give administrators notice.
Ending your account
You can permanently delete your personal account in Planning.Church at Profile → Delete account, or in Backstage from the console menu → Delete account. Deletion covers both apps and all your church memberships. Shared church records remain without your account association. Administrators should appoint a successor and export needed records first. A church may stop using Planning.Church at any time and ask us to close its workspace. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law, and will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so. On closure you may export your records, and we delete them as described in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and liability
The platform is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will update the date above and notify church administrators before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the updated terms.
